
This heritage project was funded by the National Lottery and focused on the meticulous conservation of key historic features of the property.
The scope of work included:
Specialist conservation of the original wall panelling throughout the building, preserving its historic character while refreshing its appearance through careful decoration in keeping with the period style.
Timber floor conservation, involving sensitive repairs, cleaning, and finishing to retain the integrity and authenticity of the original flooring materials.
Restoration and conservation of traditional sash windows, ensuring their functionality and aesthetic were preserved, alongside appropriate decorative work using historically accurate materials and colours.
Conservation of the external brick façade, including gentle cleaning, repointing with lime mortar where necessary, and protective treatments to ensure the continued longevity and historic value of the building’s exterior.
This comprehensive conservation effort aimed to safeguard the building’s historic fabric while ensuring it remains accessible and appreciated by future generations.
